Ubbi is making waves with their new bath line! With Ubbi’s bath toys your child will switch, squeeze, stack, splash, and smile with these bright, colorful and fun bath essentials. Convenience and playfulness are top of mind with this new product line, as the handheld toys can simply be placed in the top-rack of the dishwasher after play, preventing any mold, and extending playtime with these colorful creatures.

As a parent, I remember being extremely disgusted when I realized that mold was growing in my baby’s favorite bath toys.  The disgust turned into annoyance when I realized how difficult it would be to clean out.  I ended up throwing away most of her bath toys in search for a better solution.

I knew there must be a better solution out there.  I was surprised when I did not find one immediately.  It took me hours of searching before I came upon the Ubbi.  I was probably overly excited when I found them; a grown woman jumping up and down over bath toys!  Finally, I thought, a company that has smart design.  After trying the products with my daughter, these toys exceeded my expectations.

First impressions go a long way.  My daughter was so excited to get these, she impatiently waited while I opened up the packaging and then sat playing with them in the living room.  Not just good for the bath, it seems!

Ubbi stack & splash bath toys are designed to enhance creative and imaginative play in the bathtub. Let them splash, float, fill and pour with their new bath time friends. In addition to bath toys, Ubbi designed smart storage solutions as well.  The Ubbi bath toy drying bin, shown below, is a free standing bin allows you to conveniently contain bath toy clutter. Simply scoop the toys out of the tub using the whimsical handles, and place the bin on its base. The large holes in the bin allow for fast drying, and the base collects excess water that can be poured out later. Easy to use and wash, this drying bin makes bath time clean up a breeze.

When was Ubbi created?

Ubbi was founded in 2011 under the umbrella of Pearhead, Inc. Pearhead is a photosharing and keepsakes company that sells a wide array of products from frames, to chalkboards, to monthly baby belly stickers. Ubbi was founded to cover the nursery-essentials side of baby, with the first product being our signature steel diaper pail.

Where are you located and how large is the team at Ubbi?

Ubbi has a team of 6 people located in Brooklyn, NY.

What is the work philosophy and environment like at Ubbi?

Our work philosophy is to create convenient, functional, and modern products designed to make parents’ lives easier. We love solid, neutral colors on simple, sleek designs, or trendy patterned designs! The work environment at Ubbi is very team-oriented.  Everyone has their designated duties, but all projects are a group effort at the core.

What made Ubbi decide to design a bath line?  Was it always the intention in the company plan?

We wanted to branch out from the nursery and venture into the other most important room in the house with a child – the bathroom! Bath time isn’t always easy with toddlers, that’s why we wanted to create colorful toys that make bath time fun. The bath toys twist open and close to prevent mold – and are dishwasher safe! The storage is modern and convenient – from our 2 part drying bin for easily scooping up toys in the bath, to our extendable organizer which provides fun during bath time, and nests together easily when finished.

As a parent, I absolutely love the switch bath toys because they are easy to clean unlike the toys that build up mold and water inside.  Can you tell us a little about the design process with creating those toys?

That was our thought exactly! While in the design process, we did extensive research on what is already sold on the market, and read reviews of what parents do and do not like in their childrens’ bath toys. The common theme was they are too difficult to clean and eventually become moldy, feeling like a waste of money after only being able to use them for a short period of time. We worked closely with our designers to find the best solution to this issue, which lead us to our interchangeable and squeeze toys!

Which is your favorite new bath toy and why?

I’m personally drawn to the shark and dolphin pour cups. They are bright, eye-catching colors and have such an easy, sleek design.

What is the future of the company? How do you see Slate growing in the next 5 years?

Ubbi continues to grow! We are in the middle of several new products that further expand our current lines. We love social media and constantly update our accounts to keep customers aware of our new products. We also attend several events in the NY area – if you ever see us, stop by and say hi!

Is there anything else you would like our readers to know?

We truly value our customers and their thoughts and opinions. We are always here to help or provide an ear for listening. Our customers are what keep Ubbi alive and thriving, so it is important for us to ensure they’re happy!
